FRED FRITH
MOFFOM is pleased to welcome legendary musician and composer Fred Frith as the honored guest of the 2007 festival. In addition to screenings of the acclaimed 1990 portrait film “Step Across the Border” and Thomas Riedelsheimer’s award-winning 2003 documentary “Rivers and Tides” which features an innovative score by Frith, MOFFOM will also present a special moderated screening of the ongoing experimental project “Surface and Time” by visual artist Heike Liss, also with music by Frith, in association with the Audiovisual series at Kino Světozor on 18 October.

BI KIDUDE - As old as my tongue
A new film about Bi Kidude, one of the world's most unusual and charismatic musical talents, premieres in Prague this May.
No-one knows Bi Kidude's real age. She claims to be 113 years old, though the makers of As Old as my Tongue believe she's no older than 97. She is, at any rate, certainly the world's oldest living performer.

FIRST FILMS ANNOUNCED
In the section New York City, which is this year’s festival focus, we present the classic musical comedy The Producers (1968). The documentary A Great Day in Harlem brings to life a remarkable moment in the history of jazz - a moment when dozens of America's jazz legends unexpectedly gathered together in 1958 for a photograph that would become emblematic of the golden age of jazz.
SIGUR RÓS CONCERT IN PRAGUE NEXT WEEK
Alongside Björk, Sigur Rós are probably the most well known of Iceland's music scene. Catch them next Tuesday, August 19th, at Prague's HC Sparta Praha stadium. Their performance will begin another series of meetings with the Nordic culture Midnight Sun Sessions.
Music Film Festivals in Finland and South Korea in August
Music Film festivals and especially music documentary festivals are growing all over the world. MusiXine is part of the 14th Oulu Music Video Festival in Oulu Finland (which also hosts the legendary "World Air Guitar Championship")
Documentary Monday in Světozor cinema: The Pied Piper of Hutzovina
MOFFOM presents on June 28th another night within the „Documentary Mondays“ at cinema Svetozor. A co-production film The Pied Piper of Hutzovina (U.K., Ukraine) received many responses at the MOFFOM 2007 festival.

Thanks to all filmmakers, who submitted their films. The final program will be announced at the end of August. In 2009 we plan to introduce a Czech competitive section.
